Nico Williams has agreed personal terms with Barcelona on a five-year deal, according to Spanish outlets.
Spanish TV show reported on Wednesday that Barcelona have reached personal terms on a five-year contract with Nico Williams, with the Blaugrana set to move on to the player’s €58m release clause from Athletic Bilbao.
Barcelona have been link with Nico for a long time and are pushing hard to conclude a deal for the 22-year-old, who has been their top target this summer ยูฟ่าเบท, with talks with the player’s representatives taking place over the past week or two and it now appears the Catalan giants have reached an agreement with the player.
According to ‘El Chiringuito’, Nico representatives have agree a five-year deal with Barcelona, with only the player’s release clause remaining to be meet, while the 22-year-old forward is currently on holiday after Euro 2024 in Ibiza.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has assured fans that his club does have the financial capability to land the 21-year-old. “Economically speaking, we could commit to the signing of Nico Williams,” Laporta told Catalunya Radio. “Nico’s a player I like, I like him a lot.
“We are working with [coach Hansi] Flick on possible signings. Now we have to leave [sporting director] Deco to close the operations we are working on.”
Nico has also been link with a move to Premier League giants, but Barcelona are the 22-year-old’s only destination should he decide to leave Athletic Bilbao.
